Our little family all dressed up for church.

Dylan still comes with us to "big" church and to our ABF (Adult Bible Fellowship Class). Mommy isn't ready to give him over to nurseries just yet. Dylan is very good in church though he may be distracting people around us with his sweet face he isn't noisy.

New Arrival

Congratulations Jen and Mike!
On the birth of their daughter

President's Park

This past Friday, Rory and I took Dylan with us to the President's Park in Williamsburg.
There are 42 Presidential Statutes standing 16-18 feet tall each with short histories and interesting facts.
Rory with George Washington (his ships namesake)
Kim & Dylan with her favorite President - can you guess who?
President Lincoln one of the most famous of the four assassinated presidents.
Dylan found it so stimulating that he slept through the entire visit :) he he
Rory and I enjoyed finding out the little known facts about our Presidents - makes them more than just old guys in a history book.
For example:
James Garfield could write in Greek and Latin at the same time! (yeah my left hand's handwriting looks like I am still in kindergarten)
Andrew Jackson was the only president to have been a prisoner of war - at his inauguration he had a saber slash down his forehead and two bullets in his body.

*Did you know that four presidents were assassinated and five presidents survived attempted assassination? Yeah me either I only remembered two were assassinated
*Also did you know that you could get a ticket for speeding a horse through Washington? I forget which president it was but he got a ticket for riding his horse too fast in Washington - that really made me laugh.

Dylan Updates

We are happy to report that Dylan is doing great!
Below are pictures of Dylan with Hunter (the son of our good friend Michaela) at Mom's Bible Study last Friday. I will continue to try and get great pictures of these two precious boys. About a month ago, Micheala and her husband Jeff watched Dylan for us one evening when we attended a wedding. Hunter chatted away with Dylan and that night was the longest Dylan had ever slept. Not sure what secret Hunter told him but we are forever grateful to that sweet little boy:)

This past Sunday Dylan found his thumb. He started out trying to shove his whole fist into his mouth. Then he started the process of finding just his thumb - sucking on all his fingers, the side of his hand then he worked his way down to his finger and thumb and finally just the thumb. He hasn't quite mastered it since he is still sucking on any part of his hand that he finds comforting at that moment:)He is starting to enjoy tummy time a little more since he holds his head up better. Mom and Dad also lay on the floor in front of him with toys - that sure helps:)

Talking with Dylan

Dylan has been starting many new things! He is now holding anything he can get his hands around and talks all the time. We caught a couple of these today and wanted to share it with everyone. It is amazing how quickly he is developing these new skills!! We taped him for about two minutes talking but could not post that one because the file is too big. So here is a smaller one....

Here is Dylan with the pinky grip on his play mat toy!

Accomplishment

So our little man did something exciting (OK exciting to his mother maybe not everyone else) Last night I was getting the vaporizer ready (Dylan is congested) and Dylan was laying on our bed. I looked over at him and to my surprise he had taken the pacifier out of his mouth - it didn't drop out of his mouth he actually took it out. He was still holding onto it waving it in the air. By the time I got the camera he was holding his arm down but still holding onto the pacifier. Up until this point Dylan had never held anything in his hand. He has grabbed things like blankets and mom's hair but never held anything in his hand like he did the pacifier. I was so excited!! I love being a mom and watching Dylan grow and accomplish new things!!!!
