Dylan's Three and We visit the Sea!

This year in lieu of a birthday party for our precious son we headed over to Myrtle Beach for a night at Compass Cove. We all LOVE the beach and the resort seemed very child friendly with multiple pools, including a kiddie pool (depth 1.5ft) and water slides thus making our decision of heading to the beach an easy one.
There was a "sunken" submarine among other entertaining items in the kiddie pool. Dylan loved splashing in the water, exploring the submarine, watching the large buckets spill water and being "chased" by as he described us silly parents. It has been wonderful to have Daddy home so much with his new civilian job!

Interestingly enough we would have to say that one of Dylan's favorite aspects of the resort were the two lazy rivers.

Birthday Morning!
We don't often have doughnuts as I am sure you can gather from the above two pictures documenting Dylan's excitement over his birthday breakfast. My excitement lay in the fact that we were eating breakfast listening to the sound of the waves, watching the water rise and recede over the sand and being cooled every so often by the breeze washing across our balcony!

Rory and I were thrilled and slightly surprised by the fact that Dylan LOVED the two water slides at Compass Cove. The picture above is too cute with both of my guys smiling after their wet ride together!

I am finding it hard to believe that our son is 3 years old!
We do love the beach!

We left Myrtle Beach the afternoon of the 24th, Dylan's birthday, arriving home in time for dinner, cake and presents.

Dylan's Under the Sea cake courtesy of me:)

Seeing this look of joy on his face made all the time spent on the cake worth it! Isn't that the case with all the hard work of parenting - it is always worth it!
Happy Birthday to Our Dylan
God has blessed us with an amazing three years of enjoying our precious son!
