Nursery

These are two of the pictures that will be central to our nursery theme. Since we are not going to find out what gender our child is until he or she arrives we have to have a unisex room. I am going with a Teddy Bear theme using these Anne Geddes pictures. As of right now, the color scheme will be yellow, orange, blue and green with an emphasis on the yellow and blue. Of course as I iron out the details in my head they could change - it is still early:) The good news is the walls are already yellow so thankfully we don't have to paint:) I am still working all the details out in my head for how to have the room situated. I love this part!

Our Little Bundle of Joy

WOW WOW WOW

I am blown away by how much I love this little one inside of me. I always knew I would love my child when it arrived, but seeing the baby on the monitor at the Dr. office just filled my heart with so much love. I can't really describe or even begin to explain the feelings I was inundated with when I was watching Rory's and my baby moving and stretching on screen. I didn't realize the baby was moving so much right now (I won't be able to feel the quickening for another 8 weeks or so)

We saw the baby squirming around and stretching out it's little legs. We could see the little feet so perfect in their tininess. The baby kept it's legs crossed for the most part which is why it is hard to distinguish the legs on this picture. They are on the left. The Dr. said that our baby was in the thinker pose with its hands up by its head (well I guess it will be a thinker since it has a nuclear engineer as a father) The hands were pressed up against the sides of the head balled up in little fists. At one point when the Dr. changes the position of the ultrasound it did look like the baby was waving:) AS I am sure you have figured out that the head is on the right since the legs are on the left. A crown to rump measurement was taken and our due date has changed

JULY 20th. The Dr. said the baby was very photogenic and gave us some very good shots to work with in regards to the crown to rump measurements

The over all report was that I am in great shape and from all appearances the baby is strong and healthy.

The morning sickness though it may not be so great for me is a wonderful sign. The Dr. said it is a great sign for the Baby meaning I have tons of hormones that are doing their job. So in my opinion bring on the vomiting.

Now many of you will understand how much I love this baby:) I hate vomiting!

Our Child's Heartbeat!

Using the Doppler the Doctor, gave us the opportunity to listen to the rhythmic beating of our precious child's heart. It was beating strong with a rate of 154bpm. I am not sure if anything competes with that sound except for maybe Rory saying I DO:)

I love technology (well at this moment I do)

You are looking at the chest/stomach of our child. Inside the dark crescent you see a circle with what looks like a line rising up and to the left. The circle is the chest/stomach area I mentioned. We were able to see the little heart actually beating - so amazing. The line is the umbilical cord. During another shot we saw the umbilical cord pumping vital nutrients into the baby.

It was quite odd - like it was doing a little dance (well a very mundane, constant dance:)) To think that was life going from my body to the child's body.

I am just blown away with the magic of the miracle inside of me.

Close up of Baby Fredrick

Here is a close up of the Baby. The face is on the left side of the picture - you are looking at the profile. At the Dr. office I was shocked how well I could see my child's face in this picture. The Wow factor will be with me for a while. Until you see your own child growing inside of you there is no way to explain the feelings evoked.

Finally an Update:)

Hello, I have been really bad about this Blogging deal, but the blogging deal has really got my temper flaring at moments. As you know this is a new blog site because when "they" (Lord knows I wish I knew who the "they" was everyone talks about) upgraded the blogger accounts I haven't been able to get to the rorynkimberly site. Thanks for dealing with me:) and the blogger people.

  • *To the left there is a picture of baby Fredrick and I Christmas Eve morning. Ok, so you can't really tell I'm pregnant I just look thick.

*We finally found out our DUE DATE: July 11

* Today is a BIG DAY for RORY. He was baptized at church this morning. Great way to start out the new year. I thank the Lord for the wonderful caring husband that He has given me!

* Guess What it is finally behind me - I passed the American Council on Exercise personal training exam. I start working with other trainers at Riverside starting in the new year. Not sure when I meet one on one with my first client.

WISHING EVERYONE A NEW YEAR FULL OF BLESSINGS

He's A Daddy!

Ok I told you all I would tell you how I told Rory that he was going to be a Daddy:)
Well here it is:November 15th, I woke up with this brilliant idea to take an in-home pregnancy test. I really didn't want to because only a week earlier I had taken one hoping for good news on my birthday only to have my hopes dashed. I laid in bed trying to convince myself it was a bad idea I needed to wait at least another week. For some reason I kept thinking that I really needed to take the test. I did first thing when I got up and was cautiously thrilled when I got two blue lines. Rory had already left for work (around God awful 0 dark hundred hours) so I wondered to myself if the test was accurate. I went off to workiong knowing that around 11:00am I would be back home for the heating man to come and check out our unit before winter hit us full in the face. After the heating man left, I took another test figuring if it read positive that far into the day then I had to be pregnant. Sure enough to my relief I was told once again I was carrying my first child. Then came the hardest part. I told you Rory had left for work, but what I failed to mention was that he was working a 24 hour duty day meaning I wouldn't see him again until the evening of the 16th after work. We are talking almost 36 hours of knowing I was pregnant and not being able to tell a single soul. I had to tell the Daddy first! Rory beat me home which made my plan a little more tricky. I ran straight upstairs to our bathroom and had to pretend I was very busy and he couldn't come in:) I rolled up my work out top and wrote HI DAD on my stomach with a smilie face. I came out of our bathroom holding the epts with my shirt rolled up anticipating the look on Rory's face, but he had his back to me. I said his name hoping he would turn around but he just said yes babe expecting me to continue. So I had to say his name again and when I did I choked up a little bit of course that clued him in. He turned around and saw my message then he picked me up in a huge hug and whirled me around. So that is the story:)As the weeks have gone on it has gotten less fairy talish and more like having the flu that never leaves. Oh yeah I am having fun all day sickness!

Something New

This is something new we are trying (that means bear with me as I try to get this blog up and running). We thought this would be an easy way to stay in touch with family and friends as we continue with life here in COLD Virginia as well as when we move to Japan. As many of you know we just found out that we are expecting our first child sometime this summer!!!! This blog will also help keep everyone in the loop with all of the new changes in our life. I will write more about how we found out and when I told Rory at a later date.
