Melbourne Part II

After the Sports museum we headed on the trains to find the Brighton Beach Huts we had seen online. An easy train ride to the Brighton Station and short windy walk later we found an ocean side park with an amazing view looking back toward Melbourne.

There were the "famed" beach huts we had seen online.

We took off our shoes and walked down the row of brightly painted beach huts. All the while Dylan was investigating the beach - sand, shells, and the sea weed
The beach huts are traditional English Victorian style which were originally known as boat huts. As it turns out there seem to be many beach huts along the Australian coast as there are in areas of England and Wales.
Currently the beach huts in Australia are generally used for Aussie barbecues. The Brighton Beach huts that we saw as well as the ones at neighboring St Kilda are mostly owned for perceived chic and investment value. Aussie beach huts are privately owned and change hands for tens of thousands of dollars. Those at Brighton and St Kilda go for even more!

Back to the city: Rory and I with the Eureka Tower in the background.

The Eureka Tower is 984 feet high with a skydeck on the 88th floor.
Check out a few views from the tower.

The above picture is of the area southeast of downtown Melbourne including Albert Park Lake.
Below you get to see how massive the MCG is that we visited earlier in the day with the Yarra River flowing in the foreground.

Rory, our awesome photographer, took this intense picture of the Yarra River after dinner our last evening in Melbourne.

Dylan like his father loves his music! OK so mom loves it as well though can tone deaf people truly love something you can't 'hear':)
Here he is content and happy to be enjoying some tunes before the plane took off for our next destination - SYDNEY
